Using the Aperture Priority Auto Mode
Sometimes you are trying to take a picture of some autumn leaves with bright vivid colors but you just can't because the wind is blowing and the branches keep swaying. Furthermore, it is difficult to focus on the leaves blowing in the wind. In that case, you can try to aim at the swaying leaves by framing a part of the tree against the whole.

Accentuate the blur using a slow shutter speed
Take a picture using a slow shutter speed to shoot the leaves rustling in the wind. In this case you take the picture by adjusting the shutter speed so you could use the Shutter Priority Auto (S) Mode. However, you will achieve a more reliable exposure by using the Aperture Priority Auto (A) Mode and adjusting the aperture value.
Usually, if the subject is blurred one tends to think of it as a picture that failed. But by accentuating the blur, a picture can show the blowing wind. Of course, there is no measure for the strength of the wind or for how much the branches of a tree sway, so one cannot speak of an appropriate shutter speed. But you can try adjusting the shutter speed, carefully observing the amount of movement and taking several trial pictures at the most appropriate moments. You can get the slowest shutter speeds by closing as much as possible the aperture and setting the ISO sensitivity to the lowest possible setting.

Compare the effect of the timing of the capture of the shot

The whole tree is blurred With no blur, the picture remains static

Useful things to remember

When the whole tree is blurred, the picture looks as a failed picture because the camera moved. Try taking several pictures changing the shutter speed and the timing of taking the shot so that part of the composition will appear without blur.
Many times, in very bright surroundings the shutter speed will not be slow enough. In such cases it is convenient to use an ND filter. The ND filter reduces the amount of light that enters the lens, allowing you to use slower shutter speeds.
Taking pictures with the slow shutter function will let you use slower shutter speeds but this increases the possibility of blur due to camera movement. Stabilize the camera by using a tripod or other similar equipment.
